Mrs. Anita L. Jackson

Anita L. Jackson, loving wife, devoted mother, joyful sister, caring aunt, cherished cousin, and servant of the Highest God, made her transition from earth to glory May 27, 2021, at home with her loving family.
She was born in Chicago, Illinois and a resident of Dayton, Ohio. Anita was a graduate of Roosevelt High School (1963) and was known for her academic success and accolades.
She worked at The Truth Christian Service Center for 11 years as a secretary and retired from the City of Dayton Children Services after 10 years. Her last position was at the Trotwood Library where she honed her love for books and met many people who became her friends.
Throughout her life, Anita believed in God and loved to read and study the Word. She was a member of the Truth Christian Service Center where she served as the lead pianist, and was admired for her mentorship and her direct approach to teaching Christian principles. In her later years, she attended Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where she was a dedicated member. She was a strong Christian who instilled Christ in those that she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Mark A. Wood, Sr., and Annie C. Wood.
Anita leaves to cherish her memory her faithful husband of 53 years, Lawrence E. Jackson; daughters, Yvette Jackson of Dayton, OH, Anessa (Rossi) Taylor of Pickerington, OH; grandchildren, Caleb and Amari Taylor of Pickerington, OH, and Chantelle (Gabe) Williams of Dayton, OH; sisters, Catherine Ferguson of Indio, CA, and Shirley Sanders of Dayton, OH; brother, Mark A. Wood, Jr. of Inland Empire, CA; best friend, Eileen Love; and many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and friends that will mourn her absence.
