Ms. Eliza Estelle Lucille Jones

Ms. Eliza Estelle Lucille Hagans Jones, age 68, of Dayton, OH, passed from this life into eternal life on Wednesday May 19th, 2021. Estelle was born October 25th, 1952, in Redfox, KY to Paris and Clella Hagans. She leaves to cherish her loving daughters, Malissa (Steve) Phelps and Aleshia (James) Stargell; Grandchildren, Queshawn, Asialyn, Danique, Alexa’Rae, Kier, Roman, Ezra, Shawnessy, Taeshawn and Larry; Great Grandchildren, Amiyah, Sophia, Zacchaeus, Samson, MyKairah and James; Special nieces, Stephanie and Bethany; Special friends, Salley Johnson and Shirley Jordan. Eliza had a host of nieces and nephews who were very dear to her heart.


Eliza was baptized at Cody Bible Church in Redfox, KY, in 1980, where she later relocated to Dayton, OH and became a faithful member of Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the kitchen committee, sang in the choir, and also was a Sunday school teacher. Eliza shared a lot of wisdom to those who listened.

Eliza loved playing Candy Crush and doing crossword puzzles. She also loved taking care of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all the youth in the family. Eliza thoroughly enjoyed being the life of the party.


She was survived by her brother, Jesse K. (Dickie Lynn) Hagans; sister, Mildred R. (Bennie) Hargro. Sister-in-law, Christine Hagans, Ella Sue Hagans, Ludrenia Sue (Merrel) Hagans-Shepherd, Freda Hagans Williams, Cynthia Hagans, Mary Martha Hagans Beatty, Darlene Hagans and Naomi Hagans; brother-in-law, Cortez Anderson.


She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shanna D. Jones, her parents, Paris and Clella Hagans, and her siblings Paris Hagans Jr., Winfred D. Hagans, Timothy Hagans, Orgman H. Hagans, Rev. Bobby L. Hagans, Arvel K. Hagans and Freddie A. Hagans; sisters, Ophelia J. Hagans Collins, Nina J. Hagans Anderson, Anna L. Hagans Clark, Dorseline (Raymond) Hagans, and Sharon C. Hagans.
